Sr. Dr. Chero Chuma

Sister Chero Chuma is a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. Has mainly served in the healthcare ministry for more than 24 years and currently serves as a per diem psychiatric provider at the Crisis Center in Seattle, where she diagnoses and treats adults struggling with serious mental illness and chronic homelessness. Appointed as the Vocation Director in the USA, she promotes vocations and accompanies women called to discern a vocation to religious life. She is a WWAMI AHEC Scholar and holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Washington, as well as a dual bachelor’s degree in Nursing & Theology, and Religious Studies from Seattle University. She utilizes her education and experiences in matters related to faith and mental health.
